News broke recently that Lil B and Frank Ocean have been in the studio together, according to a picture from Lil B’s Tumblr Dior Paint. This is, indeed, a very rare picture and we’re not going to lie it definitely surprised us. We respect both artists, and whilst Frank Ocean has attained a more mainstream critical success, and his music is arguably more accessible, it’s impossible to discount the influence and attention that the BASEDGOD commands. Comparisons aside, we’re still intrigued to see how Frank Ocean’s genre-spanning talents will fit alongside Lil B’s eccentric and zany rap skills.
Inspired by this rather surprising news, we’ve decided to take a look back at some collaborations that seemingly came out of the blue. Some are good, some are bad and some are just straight up weird. If you want to hear Bob Dylan Rap with Kurtis Blow, or listen to Jack White and the Insane Clown Posse’s song about Mozart and Butts (seriously) then check out the list below:
Weezer and Lil Wayne
Sonic Youth and Cypress Hill
The Black Lips feat. GZA
Bob Dylan And Kurtis Blow
The Jonas Brothers And Common (seriously..)
Jack White And Insane Clown Posse
Wow…just wow. 😜
We’re just as surprised as you are. Mental!
