6 Cool Space Facts

Nature, Science, Solar System, Space, Stars, The Universe

Walking on the Moon
The footprints of the Apollo Astronauts will probably stay there millions of years
. This is due to the lack of atmosphere, wind and water on the moon. The only things that will eventually erode them away are micrometeorites.

Venusian Sunsets
Venus spins in the opposite direction compared to most of the other planets
. This means that the Sun rises in the West and sets in the East.

The Surface Of The Sun
The Sun is composed mostly of helium and hydrogen, and has a surface temperature of close to 6000 degrees Celsius.

Heavy Stars
A piece of a neutron star the size of a pin point would weigh a million tonnes. This is due to their incredible density.

Count Them Up
There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth. That’s at least a billion trillion stars. Scientists have said that in actual fact the number of stars is practically uncountable, but the best guesses state that there are around 70 Billion Trillion¬†stars in the universe.

Martian Sunset
